International Relations

International Relations (IR) is the study and practice of the interactions among sovereign states, as well as between non-state actors such as international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and multinational corporations. It encompasses a range of issues including diplomacy, conflict, trade, human rights, environmental policy, and global governance. The field seeks to understand how countries communicate, cooperate, and compete with one another on the world stage, focusing on the mechanisms and patterns that govern these relationships. IR combines theoretical perspectives from political science, history, economics, and law to analyze and interpret the dynamics of international affairs. Key concepts in international relations include power, sovereignty, security, and international norms and laws.
